Because Home Should Be the Nicest Place You Ever Go!
A Family Connection since 1953, the Wagner family has been doing business in Missoula, Montana for over 60 years. Wagner's Home Furnishings is now a cornerstone of Missoula culture, community, and home decor.
Bill Wagner founded Wagner's Home Furnishings in 1953 with $1500 and a prayer. After only 10 years in business, Bill unexpectedly passed away. At this point his wife Peg took over. She ran the business successfully, even with the responsibility of having three children in college, one in high school, and two more in grade school. Peg Wagner retired in 1986 but stayed active and in touch with the business until her death in 1997.
All 6 of the Wagner children worked in the store throughout their younger years and 3 made the business their career. Also, the majority of Bill and Peg's 15 grandchildren found temporary work at this family business. John and Janice's retirement leaves Mike and wife Margaret as the working owners today. With Matt and Faith Meusey joining the staff in early 2013 a third generation is in place to continue this family business. When you walk into Wagner's Home Furnishings, you see and feel this family connection. There is a sense of comfort and security in knowing that you, too, will be served by, and treated as, family at Wagner's.
Throughout the existence of Wagner's there have been many talented and dedicated non-family members who have contributed mightily to giving Wagner's the special feel it has. Of course it would also be appropriate to thank all our clients, customers and friends who have allowed us to help them turn their houses into homes.
